The Loveland Loves to Read committee encourages families to attend this presentation by Ted Schmidt, which builds background for the theme Water in the West: A Conversation.  Historical photographs and slides are matched with taped oral history records of engineers, miners and politicians who were involved with the Colorado Big Thompson Water Project from the 1930s to the 1950s.   The Big Thompson Water project is considered one of the Eight Wonders of the Civil Engineering World.  It covers both sides of the Continental Divide, involving tanks and the National Guard, with massive political action.
