Friends of the Loveland Library newsletter

I could not be more honored than to become the president of the Loveland Friends of the Library and Foundation. This is a time of great opportunity as well as one of great anticipation. I’m fairly new to Loveland and what I have found in our library is the invaluable service it provides to the community over and above their library calling and their spirit of generosity to Loveland and its residents. Librarians are the most giving, loving and sharing profession in the world. We also have the backing of a supportive government and a caring community. As your new president, I envisage and hope for mutually beneficial partnerships within the community, combining resources for meeting the public’s informational needs. Your library is the heart of the community. By bringing more people together we can build relationships from the diversity of life experiences, bringing about creativity, energy and enthusiasm. We remain valuable as long as we remain well informed.

The library renovation and expansion, soon to take place, is becoming pretty exciting and in the not too distant future, Loveland will have a larger, beautiful, modern library. It is essential that we keep our eyes on the prize and not let up in our efforts to raise further funds, necessary to make this all happen. The most tangible part of our fund-raising campaign is, by enlarging the library, everyone in Loveland and our surrounding area will benefit…..young, old and all socio-economic groups, and that is what makes it so very important. We are truly going to benefit everyone. The importance of private gifts and donations is crucial to the library’s future development and growth. A community is often judged by its public resources…..its schools, parks and its library. The building serves not only to contain information of all kinds, but also to reflect our cultural heritage through its art. In order to maintain high standards and to make creative use of our renovated facility, additional funding in the form of gifts and donations is essential.

There’s something for everyone and many ways to show your support for this community project. Grow with us and watch out for surprises!
