Money Talks is a series of monthly programs that address the basics of financial information and management funded by a Smart Investing @ your library grant. Snacks and beverages provided at these hour long sessions.
For the July Money Talks program, presenter Laurel Kubin will look at ways to get organized, as well as discuss where and how long to keep financial records, inventory methods, keeping receipts and replacing important documents that have been misplaced. Is a shoe-box full of miscellaneous papers enough? Maybe, but it's not a stress-free method of organization. Money Talks is free and presented July 13 at 12:15 p.m. and again July 14 at 6:30 p.m.
The August Money Talks program presents an overview of key investment concepts and a brief look at the most common types of investments available. Key investing concepts include financial goal setting, risk tolerance, risk–reward tradeoffs, and the importance of asset allocation. The major investment options that will be covered are bank products, bonds, stocks, mutual funds, and ETFs. The Tuesday, August 10 program will start at 12:15 pm and the Wednesday, August 11 program starts at 6:30 pm.
